Registration under way for adult GED prep classes

Registration has started for free Adult Basic Education GED prep classes beginning March 12 at the Idaho State University Blackfoot Outreach Center.

Interested individuals should call 785-1848 to schedule an orientation and pretesting appointment, which must be completed before classes start. The term will last eight weeks and includes math, reading, writing, and government classes. These classes are useful in improving skills for a new or better job, completing a GED, preparing for college, and/or helping children with their homework.

The center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and has an evening class on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The center is located at 1443 Parkway next to the Blackfoot Medical Clinic.

GED scholarships are available for qualified students. Other services offered include computer classes, the JET program for qualified individuals, and career counseling in Blackfoot through the ISU Center for New Directions.
