All hunters and wildlife enthusiasts are invited to participate in the upcoming Mule Deer Management Workshop scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 4, at Idaho State University in Pocatello.

This free workshop sponsored by the Southeast Idaho Mule Deer Foundation and Sportsman’s Warehouse will run from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the ISU Plant Sciences Lecture Hall, Room 114.

Come to this workshop and learn about mule deer biology and behavior to improve your chances of hunting and viewing success, hear the results of the statewide mule deer hunter survey, and learn more about what the Mule Deer Initiative has been doing.

Hear from mule deer experts from ISU, Dr. John Kie and Dr. Terry Bowyer, fas well as mule deer management expert, Rick Kahn, from the Colorado Division of Wildlife as they share their experiences with mule deer throughout the western U.S.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game Commissioners Cameron Wheeler (Commission Chairman; Upper Snake Region), Randy Budge (Southeast Region), and Wayne Wright (Magic Valley Region) will be attending the workshop to participate and hear your desires for mule deer hunting experiences and preferences for mule deer management objectives.

This workshop is designed for audience participation and contributions! Public input is a key step to revising the Statewide Mule Deer Management Plan this year, and attending this workshop will ensure different voices are heard!

A free lunch is provided to those who attend, and there will be free drawings for great prizes at the end of the workshop.

Seating is limited, so to secure a reservation or for more information, contact IDFG Pocatello Office at 232-4703.
