ISU Summer Theatre Repertory Festival continues

The Idaho State University Summer Theatre Repertory Festival is going strong in Southeast Idaho and continues this week with readers’ theatre performances in Idaho Falls and Pocatello and then with main-stage productions beginning July 25 in Pocatello.

The Children’s Readers’ Theatre “School Daze” will be performed on Thursday, July 19, in Idaho Falls at the ISU Bennion Student Union Building at the Center for Higher Education. The show will also be performed and Friday, July 20, at Frazier Hall’s Bilyeu Theatre.

Both shows begin at 2 p.m. and the cost is $2 at the door.  

The theatre festival will also feature three separate main-stage productions including the hilarious comedies “Greater Tuna” and “The Complete Works of Shakespeare,” as well as the community musical “The Secret Garden.”

These shows will run in repertory starting Wednesday, July 25,  and finish up Monday, Aug. 6. They will be performed in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center venues. The schedule for the main-stage productions is as follows:

•    July 25, 28, and Aug 2, 6: “Greater Tuna,” James E. and Beverly Rogers Black Box Theatre, Stephens Center, 7:30 p.m., matinee 2 p.m. July 28.

•    July 26 and Aug 1, 4: “The Complete Works of Shakespeare,” Bilyeu Theatre, Frazier Hall, 7:30 p.m., matinee 2 p.m. Aug 4.

•    July 27, 28, 30 and Aug 3, 4: “The Secret Garden” (community musical), Beverly B. Bistline Thrust Theatre, Stephens Center, 7:30 p.m.

The Stephens Center Box Office will offer family package options and summer season tickets as well as group rates for main-stage productions.
