The fifth annual CW HOG/Claude Larsen Memorial Golf Tournament will be Saturday, July 14 at Highland Golf Course. Named to honor a longtime HOG volunteer who passed away in 2003, the tourney is a four-person scramble. Registration is at 8 a.m. and tee off time is 9.

The $40 entry fee includes green fees, a steak dinner, one entry in a raffle, and a golf towel. Trophies will be awarded for first through third places with a special prize for last, men’s and women’s longest drives, and closest to the pin. There will also be a poker run.

CW HOG provides outdoor recreation opportunities for those with and without disabilities. Proceeds from the Larsen Golf Tournament will go towards equipment and training for the organization’s many activities, including its effort to reach out and incorporate disabled U.S. military veterans into the program.

“We are hoping for our biggest golf tournament yet,” says David Kriner, CW HOG program director, who adds that golfers of all abilities, from Tiger Woods to first-time golfers, are invited to participate.

Preregistration is at Highland and Riverside Golf Courses and the CW HOG Office in the basement of the ISU Pond Student Union Building.

Last year’s tournament raised $3,800 and this year’s goal is to raise $6,000.

Golf tournament sponsors include Bobby’s Transmission, Idaho Hyperbarics, Sign Up Inc., P.A.C.E., J. R. Simplot Co., Clear Channel Radio, Kumm Law Office, FORE Golf, ISU Federal Credit Union and Western Transmission.
