‘ConnectionISU’ fundraiser targets $330,000 goal

Idaho State University students will begin calling more than 20,000 households in hopes of bettering the ConnectionISU goal of $330,000. The telephone campaign will run Jan. 28 through March 8.

The annual event raises funds for all ISU academic programs. Last year, a total of $315,741 was raised.

“This event continues to expand every year and hopefully this year will be another year of growth and continued support from our alumni and friends,” says K.C. Felt, director of annual giving for the ISU Foundation.

All seven colleges on campus are represented. Students phone alumni from their college to obtain gifts in support of scholarships, workships, internships, conference attendance, classroom improvements, equipment purchase, or even the creation of new scholarships or endowments.

Felt says all pledges are donor-directed but with student input so that the areas of greatest need can be addressed.

“These funds afford ISU students opportunities to achieve educational goals that might otherwise go unrealized,” Felt says, adding that community and alumni support is essential because student fees and state funding cannot adequately cover all costs of education.

“When one of our students contacts you, remember how vital you are to their education and future success, and be generous with your response and your pledge,” Felt says.
