Bengal Dancers earn awards at national camp

Idaho State University 2007-2008 Bengal Dancers recently returned from camp with the Universal Dance Association (UDA) hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There were more than 600 dancers from more than 20 different schools from across the United States.   Bengal Dancers

The Bengal Dancers took home several awards in Division I while at camp including the Most Collegiate Award, second place “Fight Song” and second place “Home Routine.”

The 17-member team was individually evaluated on three separate routines that they learned while at camp. All 17 team members received all superior blue ribbons on their individual routine evaluations. Having all superior ribbons also earned the team a superior trophy.

The Bengal Dancers are coached by Hilary Hofmaier and assisted by Lindsay Tucker.  The Bengal Dancers won the USA Hip Hop National Championship and finished second at the National Dance Association Nationals in the spring of 2007.

While at camp the following Bengal Dancers received UDA staff applications: Katie Bolduc, Britney Giovanini, Kelsi Goodfellow, Chelsea Kaminska, Jacquelyn Kupferer, Jordan Nelson, Ashton PeCoy, Alexis Phillips, Savana Schiess, Sierra Smith, Whitney Smith and Kasja Watt.
