ISU Marketing and Communications

Economics students from Highland, Pocatello and Century high schools will participate in an International Economic Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Idaho State University Pond Student Union Building Ballroom.

At the summit, the high school students will serve as economic advisors for countries they have been researching for the past several weeks. The students strive to increase the standard of living for their represented country through a day of negotiations and trade.

At 11:30 a.m., the high school economic students will meet and interact with ISU international students from around the globe to learn about their respective countries and cultures. Lunch will be provided for all students and volunteers.

As part of the International Education Week running Nov. 13-18, all participating teachers will receive international economics curriculum.

The public is invited to attend the summit and meet with the ISU international students.

If you wish to volunteer to help at the summit, please contact Janaan Haskell at (208) 282-2359.

Support for this program was provided to the ISU Center for Economic Education by the National Council on Economic Education as part of the Cooperative Education Exchange Program (CEEP). CEEP is conducted through the United States Department of Education, in coordination with the U.S. Department of State.
