Free adult learning classes to be offered in Malad

November 28, 2006
ISU Marketing and Communications

A new session of adult reading, writing, and math classes is starting January 2007 in Malad. These classes are useful in improving skills for a new or better job, completing a GED, preparing for college or helping children with their homework.

Now is the time to get registered.  All students must be registered and complete a pre-test to be eligible to attend classes. Malad class registration and pre-testing will be ongoing through Dec. 21 and will continue Jan. 2–4. The office will be closed the week of December 25 through December 28 for the holidays.

Pre-testing is valuable as it identifies current academic skills for placement into appropriate level classes. The pre-test is also useful in identifying how close a person is to completing their GED. To schedule your pre-test, call 766-0909. Classes and pre-tests are located at the Idaho State University Malad Outreach, 30 North 100 West, across the street from the library in the Health and Welfare Office.

Other services available at the Outreach Center include Job Education Training (JET) classes in computers and customer service. To participate in JET classes, a person must have a child under age 18. For more information on any of the ISU Malad outreach services, call 766-0909. ###
