Idaho State-Civic Symphony "An Enchanted Evening-Broadway Hits and More" Set March 11

POCATELLO—“An Enchanted Evening – Broadway Hits and More” is the theme of the Idaho State-Civic Symphony Association’s concert and fundraiser at the Idaho State University Stephens Performing Arts Center on March 11.

The Idaho State-Civic Symphony Association will hold its annual raffle fundraising event and the symphony will perform with Broadway stars and guest artists Calland Metts and Sarah Lawrence for the annual Pops concert, “Timeless Broadway.”  Raffle mania begins at 6:30 p.m., doors to the hall open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Artistic Director and Conductor Grant Harville has brought together hit songs from the stage spanning more than a century. Musicians will open the program with Bizet’s lively “Danse Boheme” from “Carmen,” and will solo throughout the evening in other favorites including Bernstein’s Overture to “West Side Story,” Gershwin’s “Lullaby” and the lilting “Carousel Waltz.” Metts and Lawrence will perform numbers ranging from romantic Italian melodies to Broadway favorites, including “Embraceable You,” “Tonight, and “Con de partiró,” the Italian original of “Time to Say Goodbye.”

Before the concert in the Rotunda, the event will feature an array of raffle items and raffle tickets available for purchase beginning at 6:30 p.m. and continuing at intermission. Tickets for the baskets are $1. Basket themes include season tickets to the symphony, ISU athletic events, theatre and opera performances, a golf outing, getaway and dine-around-town packages, a money tree, day at the links and more. 

A limited-ticket item for which only 100 tickets at $20 each will be sold, is a jewelry ensemble donated by Molinelli’s Jewelers, a Colore | SG necklace, bracelet and earrings of amethyst, citrine and blue topaz.  This year’s raffle will be feature three silent-auction items: an original painting by local artist Helen Livingston, a printed on metal and ready-to-hang photograph by Linda Groom and a weekend getaway complete with condominium to the Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree.  Drawings for all items will be at the concert guests must be available to pick up prizes that evening.

Ticket prices for the concert are as followed: $34 per adult, $18 for students through high school and  $12 for third-tier balcony. This concert is the annual fundraiser; no RUSH tickets will be sold. All prices are subject to additional box office fees and credit card charges.  ISU students with valid Bengal ID are admitted free.
