Looking for a FUN summer activity? The Idaho State University Electronics department is offering summer camps in June. Have fun exploring the world of Electronics – lasers, robots, field trips, building solar powered cars, and more.
Students entering sixth, seventh and eighth grades are invited to participate in a day camp to be held on Monday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of lasers, digital television, and computer systems. Participants will also be involved in hands-on activities that will let them construct their own electrical circuits, learn how electricity is made, and see how electronics affects our lives.
An Introductory and Advanced Camp will be held for students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. The Introductory Camp is for students who have no prior experience in electronics. This is an opportunity to have fun exploring what electronics is and how electronics technology affects our world. The Introductory camp will run June 18-21.
The Advanced Camp offers two weeks of electronics fun for students who have attended previous camps or have prior electronics training. Advanced campers will build more complex projects, conduct more in-depth investigations of electronics technology and will have time for longer filed trips. This camp will be June 18-28.
The costs for the camps are: day camp is $25; introductory camp is $75 for the week; and the advanced camp is $150 for two weeks. The cost for all camps includes meals, snacks, field trip transportation and supplies. Scholarships are available.
<>All camp opportunities will be held within the Electronics Department labs at the Idaho State University College of Technology. Electronics programs are an integral part of the College of Technology. Six major electronics labs are equipped to offer various education and exploration opportunities using a variety of test equipment such as, lasers, robotics, radio, telecommunications, and instrumentation technologies. Adjacent classrooms offer multimedia capabilities to give campers interesting and exciting information that they can take into the labto further explore the exciting world of electronics.
