Posted February 12, 2014
Students and prospective university students who need help completing Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) forms can attend the Idaho State University 2014-15 FAFSA Day on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Pocatello and Idaho Falls.
The help sessions run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pocatello at the ISU Rendezvous Complex Rooms 213-215 and in Idaho Falls in at the ISU-Idaho Falls Bennion Student Union Building Computer Laboratory.
This service is available for new students and returning students. Participants should bring personal information and current financial records, including their parent’s financial information, if applicable. Personal help will be available.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is for anyone who wants or needs financial aid for college. The application determines the dollar amount an applicant or their family should expect to contribute for college. FAFSA determines all federal grants and loan awards, and nearly all colleges use the FAFSA as the basis for their own financial aid awards.
The Office of Federal Student Aid, part of the Department of Higher Education, manages the FAFSA. The Office of Federal Student Aid processes roughly 14 million financial aid applications a year and disburses about $80 billion in financial aid.
Once ISU applicants have their FAFSA for next year, they need to check BengalWeb and ISU email regarding possible requests for documentation and award notifications. The FAFSA is available online at http://www.fafsa.gov.
If you have any questions or concerns related to your financial aid or this FAFSA help session, contact the ISU Financial Aid Office in Pocatello at (208) 282-2756 or in Idaho Falls at (208) 282-7704.
