Idaho State University’s 32nd annual CW HOG Pig Out Fundraiser set Sept. 14

The 32nd annual Idaho State University Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group (CW HOG) Pig Out, a dinner and fundraiser for CW HOG, will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, in Lower Ross Park Pavilion in Pocatello.

The dinner includes grilled pork chops, Idaho baked potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, cold beverages, and the HOGs' specialty, a vegetarian Dutch-oven dish. Dinner is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Musical entertainment, featuring D&G Railroad will be from 5 to 10:30 p.m. The Pig Out is a family-oriented activity. Children’s games, arts and crafts, and face painting will be provided from 3 to 5 p.m. by the ISU Council for Exceptional Children. (more…)

Idaho State University Clint Stennett Scholarship luncheon set for Sept. 4 in Ketchum

A luncheon to complete the Idaho State University scholarship endowment for the late state Sen. Clint Stennett is Wednesday, Sept. 4, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ketchum.

Stennett, who died of brain cancer in 2010, represented Blaine County in the Idaho Legislature for approximately 20 years. He was the longest-serving minority leader in the Idaho Senate. After his death, Stennett's wife, Michelle, was elected to his seat and now represents District 26. (more…)

Idaho State University to host art exhibits from Ahola-Young and Sarabia starting Aug. 26

The first exhibition this fall at the John B. Davis Gallery at Idaho State University is "PRODROMES" by Laura Ahola-Young. 

The compARTment Gallery exhibition will be "TAKE" by Omar Sarabia. Opening receptions will be held Monday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.  The exhibition dates are from Aug. 27 through Sept. 13. (more…)

Idaho State University Alumni 2013 Homecoming week events planned Oct. 3-5

Idaho State University's Homecoming 2013 with the theme "50 Years of Celebrating U" will highlight the 50-year anniversary of Idaho State University becoming a four-year university.

A variety of alumni events will be held culminating Oct. 5 with the Homecoming Parade at 9:30 a.m. and football game at 2:05 p.m. in Holt Arena. (more…)

Idaho State University new student March through the Arch set Aug. 25

March through the Arch: the "New Student March through the Arch," a tradition for ISU freshman, will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Reed Gymnasium.

ISU President Arthur Vailas, other ISU officials, and the ISU Marching Band will be gathered to welcome new students a day before the fall semester begins on Aug. 26. (more…)

World War II vet flies in airplane rebuilt by Idaho State University College of Technology programs

World War II vet James "Jim" Wallace, 93, got to fly in his rebuilt 1948 Cessna C-170 airplane at Pocatello Airport earlier this month.

The aircraft was received by the Idaho State University College of Technology Aircraft Maintenance Technology program almost a decade ago from Wallace in a crate. (more…)

ISU Idaho Museum of Natural History to present ‘A Tradition of Service: Honoring Fort Hall Veterans’ exhibit starting Aug. 9

The Idaho State University Idaho Museum of Natural History has announced the opening of the new exhibit "A Tradition of Service: Honoring Fort Hall Veterans" on Aug. 9.

The exhibit features information on Native American service in the military, highlighting Fort Hall military service, from the Indian Wars to the conflicts of the present day. Information panels and military gear related to Indian scouts and 20th-century warfare are included in the exhibit. (more…)
