The Idaho Museum of Natural History is excited to announce that Mark Hallett, an internationally known artist, sculptor, and author who is an expert on the anatomy and behavior of prehistoric animals, will visit Pocatello in May. Mark’s artwork is currently featured in the Museum’s newest exhibit, “The Art of Paleontology.”

Idaho State University Student Unions has selected Sonia Nazario’s book, “Enrique’s Journey,” for the 2008 Reading Project. In “Enrique’s Journey,” the award-winning journalist recounts the true, unforgettable odyssey of a Honduran boy who braves unimaginable hardship and peril to reach his mother in the United States.
Readers can prepare themselves to participate in Reading Project discussions, including a presentation by the author, by reading the book over the summer. Nazario is scheduled to give the keynote speech and host related discussions on Tuesday, October 28. (more…)
Barbara Nelson walked across the stage of Boise’s Centennial High School Performing Arts Center on May 3 and flashed the top of her graduation cap at an audience of 700 people.
It read, “I did it!” in bright orange letters outlined in glitter.
Not only did Nelson receive her Master of Counseling degree, she was the winner of Idaho State University-Boise’s Student Excellence Award.
Nelson was one of nine ISU-Boise 2008 graduates nominated for the award by faculty, who select students for academic achievement, dedication to their profession and community involvement. Nelson holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and works as a drug and alcohol counselor in the Ada County Drug Court Program. (more…)
