Biography:

My background is Engineering Mechanics (Ph.D.) and Mechanical Engineering (B.S. and M.S.). I am a Professor and Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and serve as the Graduate Program Director for the Measurement and Control Engineering (MCE) Program as well as the associate director of the Measurement and Control Engineering Research Center (MCERC). Prior to joining ISU, I was an associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the Applied Research Center with Indiana Institute of Technology. Prior to that, I was an Assistant Professor with Lake Superior State University. My industrial background includes work with compound and chemical mixing machinery, design of large scale food processing machine components, transportation and power transfer systems, as well as computer software and calculator development.
