Description:

11:15-12:15

Description:

1 Health Occupations What are you spreading? Come enjoy a fun activity about germs, how they spread and the #1 way to stop them.  Magneto Science Discover what speakers, microphones, motors, and generators have in common and how lots of electric gizmos work. Learn about career opportunities in physics.
2 Diesel Technology Have an opportunity to learn about Diesel engines and hydraulics while participating in hands on activity driving heavy equipment using a simulator.  Chemistry-Mirror, Mirror  Chemists have developed many processes that have improved our lives. We explore the technique used to plate silver on a glass surface. Each participant will make and take home a mirrored glass vial.
 3 Cosmetology -The Color Wheel
How do the Color Wheel and chemical science create lasting color in the hair?

Physics-Egg Rocket  Construct a capsule to protect an egg from damage during a head on collision between a pop bottle rocket carrying the capsule and a brick wall with impact speeds exceeding 75 mph!
4 Nursing: It's More Than a Cute Hat  It takes guts, skill, and lots of knowledge. Join us in our Human Simulation Lab, where we have amazing mannequins that really test our abilities.  Information Technology  Learn how to disassemble, reassemble, and test a computer.
5 PTA, OTA  Participate in hands-on activities showcasing skills acquired in the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapist Assistant career paths. Robotics Technology Learn how to control robot movements with motors and sensors, and build a simple drive circuit.
6 UAS - Unmanned Aerial Systems  Practical training session with the Phoenix simulator, Mini Drone training with the Hubsons, and indoor flight training. Large unit flight (weather permitting)  Mechanical Engineering Technology (ESTEC) Come and explore the wonderful world of Mechanical Engineering Technology! Students will learn about force balance in addition to building gearboxes that they can take home with them
7 Biology - Plants  Come and tour ISU's Biological Sciences greenhouses living lab materials collection. Learn some basic plant propagation techniques, and take home a plant.  CADD – Computer Aided Design Drafting Tech Come and create a trinket box, learn about 3D printing and decorate your box with items printed on a 3D printer.
8 Cyber Physical Security  (ESTEC) Come and learn about the importance of protecting and defending a network or system from harmful attacks! Students will compete by using raspberry pi computers to hack into the opposing team's computer.  Biology - Exploring Your Senses
We will demonstrate types of anatomical connections between your peripheral sensory systems and the central nervous system. Students will test their sensitivity to a variety of stimuli and the ability to identify common objects.
9 Nuclear Operations Technology (ESTEC)  Come and investigate nuclear power through hands-on learning activities! Students will be myth busting their way through electromagnetic waves and go on a radioactive scavenger hunt using Geiger counters.  Medical Assisting Medical Assisting is a versatile, fast growing healthcare occupation. Come join our class as we do hands on healthcare activities in our MA Lab.
 10 ON Semiconductor
"Gates and Human Calculator”. Students will participate in a hands-on, or rather; feet-on demonstration as they become logic gates that direct the flow of electrons to solve a simple equation.  Instrumentation Electrical Engineering (ESTEC)  Come and examine kinetic energy and how electrical power is generated! Students will put together a basic circuit in addition to designing and building a simple electromagnetic motor that they can take home with them.
 11 Information Technology
Learn how to disassemble, reassemble, and test a computer.  Automotive Technology  Students will investigate the rolling distance of a tire, make an electrical spark to feel and see electricity and see how engines and transmissions run.
12 Robotics Technology  Learn how to control robot movements with motors and sensors, and build a simple drive circuit.  Nursing: It's More Than a Cute Hat It takes guts, skill, and lots of knowledge.
