Associate of Arts in Criminology

The Associate of Arts Degree in Criminology prepares students for positions in the Criminology field such as police officer, state trooper, correctional officer, or private security. It also prepares students for the Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with the Area of Emphasis in Criminology. To complete the AA Degree, students must finish 36 credits of General Education Requirements in addition to 28 credits related to the program (see chart below).

In their second semester, students need to choose an advisor in the Criminology Program.

Students completing the Associate of Arts must complete 8 of the 9 General Education Objectives (a minimum of 36 credits - see the General Education Requirements in undergraduate catalog).
