Lewis Eakins Presents at Conference

During the week of Jan. 7, ISU Chief Security Officer Lewis A. Eakins, presented on topics titled "Bias: Implications and Supervisory Response," and "De-escalation and Supervisory Intervention" at the inaugural offering of the First-Line Supervisor Institute in College Park, MD sponsored by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). 
 
IACLEA's Education and Learning Committee, of which Lewis serves as chairperson, developed the curriculum for the institute that is focused on providing supervisory skills for first-line supervisors in campus police and public safety departments. Over 44 attendees from universities and colleges across the nation participated in the training to include two staff persons from ISU Public Safety. Lewis says he plans to bring the training to the Northwest this year.
