ISU-Meridian will be holding two in-person Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 8 @ 1:00 PM and @ 3:00 PM at the Mountain View High School Stadium. Tickets are required for attendance.

ISU-Meridian Commencement Ceremony Information

When:

1 p.m. and 3 p.m (Attendance is assigned based on degree earned. Please see "Student Information" tab.)

Each ceremony will last approximately 1 hour.

Ceremony Start Times and Assigned Student Groups by Major/College

  • 1:00 PM Commencement Ceremony: School of Rehabilitation & Communication Sciences (Physical Therapy, Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Sign Language Interpreting, & Sign Language Studies); Emergency Services Department (Paramedic Science, Emergency Management, BSHS - EMS concentration), Associate of Arts degree for RHS, All other College of Arts & Letters programs
  • 3:00 PM Commencement Ceremony: College of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, and All other College of Health programs ( Physician Assistant, Medical Lab Science, Counseling, MPH, Nutrition), Colleges of Education, Business, Science & Engineering, & Technology

Cap, Gown, Hood and Tassel Information

  • All graduates who attend commencement must wear the appropriate regalia.
  • Pre-order your regalia package by March 15th! Sooner is better. Send an email to michaellarson4@isu.edu with the following information:
    • That you are a Meridian student
    • List your Name, Height, Weight, Degree, and Major
  • Regalia Roadshow -- Purchase and pick up your regalia at ISU-Meridian in Room 682 on:
    • Thursday, April 15th between 12-6 PM, OR
    • Friday, April 16 between 8 AM-2 PM
    • COSTS:
      • Associate/Bachelor - $86.84
      • Master - $92.14
      • Doctorate - $114.40
  • Regalia Instructions:
    • Undergraduate students wear the tassel on the right prior to graduation. Move it to the left after your name has been announced.
    • Graduate students wear the tassel on the left and do not change its position.
    • With COVID protocols, graduate students should check in with gown and hood placed.  Instructions will be shared with graduates.
    • Students keep the regalia.

Tickets for Guests

  • Graduates will be allowed up to four guests
  • Tickets are required for attendance (guest ticket requests were due April 2)
  • Commencement will also be live-streamed on ISU's YouTube channel

Photography

  • There will be a professional photo opportunity for each graduate provided by Lifetouch.
  • Photographs of groups or individuals who are not a part of the same household or cohort will be discouraged.

Diploma Information

  • Those who attend commencement are presented with a diploma cover as they cross the stage.
  • Be sure to pay your $20 Graduation/Commencement Fee.
  • A final review of requirements will be completed prior to mailing diplomas. After review has been completed and degree is posted, your diploma will be mailed. This process may take 4-7 weeks after graduation.
  • All diplomas will be mailed to the address indicated on the graduation application.
  • If your address changes, please contact the Office of the Registrar at (208) 282-2661 or gradisu@isu.edu.

Policy Statement

  • It is the desire of the administration and the faculty of Idaho State University that the ceremony be conducted with courtesy and respect for each of the graduates.
  • The behavior of all graduates is an important element in maintaining a ceremony that should be a memorable occasion.

All faculty are invited to attend commencement.

  • Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
  • Faculty should be at the Mountain View High School Stadium no later than 12:30 PM
  • Commencement regalia is required.
    • Order regalia ASAP using this link.
    • Order no later than March 15 (sooner is better).
    • Regalia must be picked up from Ali Crane's office at ISU-Meridian Student Services, 1311 E. Central Drive, Meridian, Idaho, (pick-up dates TBD)
  • If a member of your immediate family is graduating, you may request to present the diploma cover at the ceremony.
  • You are cordially invited to attend the reception immediately following commencement.

Is there a rehearsal?

No, there will not be a rehearsal.  That is why we ask graduates to be at the event location (Mountain View High School Stadium) at least 30 min before showtime. You can also watch this 7-min video for more details about what to expect.

How long will commencement last?

Approximately 1 hour

Where can I pick up my cap and gown?

At ISU-Meridian in Room 682 during the Regalia Roadshow on Thursday, April 15 from 12-6 PM or Friday, April 16 from 8 AM-2 PM.

How can I order my cap and gown?

Pre-order your cap and gown by sending an email (ASAP/by March 15) to michaellarson4@isu.edu with the following information:

  • That you are a Meridian student
  • List your Name, Height, Weight, Degree, and Major

What forms do I need to fill out to participate?

Students were required to complete the Application for Graduation (found on BengalWeb) and an RSVP Form (due by April 1). 

Are tickets required?

Yes, tickets are required for guests. Graduates are allowed up to four guests. Request guest tickets by April 2.

Will the ceremony be live-streamed?

Yes! the ceremony will be streamed live to ISU's YouTube channel. We ask that high-risk populations, people who have COVID-19, and those who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 stay home and watch the live-streamed ceremony.
