Bio

Dr. Barb Mason is Director of the Teaching and Learning Curriculum Program for pharmacy residents in the Treasure Valley and has worked with over 60 residents who have earned that credential. She continues to be active in residency education through elective academic rotations. Dr. Mason was bestowed FASHP status based on years of service to the Idaho Society of Health System Pharmacists in a variety of leadership and board positions, with the most recent one being an I-Lead Mentor. She has been awarded the ISHP Pharmacist of the Year, Leadership Award Researcher of the Year, and Excellence in Service designations.  Dr. Mason teaches an ambulatory care APPE and is transitioning her emphasis to that of geriatrics, with home health and an interprofessional focus.

In her role as Director of Interprofessional Education, she was instrumental in designing and implementing the first IPE curriculum in the COP and is a leader in those initiatives for the KDHS. Dr. Mason coordinates the first year clinical problem-solving course, teaches case studies and is involved in a variety of module classroom and lab coursework. She has been recognized as Teacher of the Year, Most Influential Professor and National Advisor of the year for Phi Lamba Sigma.

Dr. Barb Mason earned her Pharm D degree and geriatric certificate from the University of Nebraska and went on to complete a primary care residency at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.
