Bio

Christine Hall accepted a position as a clinical assistant professor for Idaho State University's Physician Assistant Program in late 2015, after thirteen years of clinical experience practicing as a Physician Assistant. Prior to training as a PA, she was a biological sciences teacher.

Hall was drawn to ISU's program in large part due to its focus and efforts on the recruitment of a diverse student body, specifically with Latino/a focus. Idaho's Hispanic population is growing rapidly, having increased by 63% over the last ten years. Language and other cultural barriers pose health risks to these patients, especially when English language skills are limited. ISU's Master's level PA Program strives to help address disparities in access to quality health care, dedicating training for our students in Spanish language and cultural competency.

Hall continues to practice medicine in Nampa, Idaho, where the county's Latino population is 24.6% according to a 2013 estimate. Her hope is that my clinical research may guide and inform our teaching practices, such that our students will be better equipped to deliver patient-centered care.
