Shanon Oler serves as the Pre-Health Advisor & Coordinator for Idaho State University’s Kasiska Division of Health Sciences. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who is a native of southeastern Idaho. Shanon earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2013 and a Master of Counseling in Student Affairs in 2015, both from ISU. She has worked in multiple capacities as a Student Affairs professional including academic advising, teaching, and mental health and career counseling. Shanon loves working with college students and has a true passion for student development theory.
Alyssa St. John
Advising Areas: Chiropractic, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy
Alyssa is an office specialist at Idaho State University in the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences as well as advising pre-health students. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology from ISU in 2016.
Health Sciences Advisor
Advising Areas: Optometry, Physician Assistant, Veterinary
Valentín García is a health sciences advisor for the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences at Idaho State University. His office is located at ISU’s Sam and Aline Skaggs Health Science Center in Meridian, Idaho. Valentín first joined ISU in 2016 as a financial technician and recruiter for the PA program. He coordinated activities and projects for a $1.1 million federal grant to increase recruitment and retention of ethnic, linguistically, and culturally diverse PA students. Valentín earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communication with an emphasis in public relations from ISU in 2016.
