Professional Development FAQ

 

What are professional development credits?

Professional Development credits are graduate-level credits typically offered to educators to acquire skills and knowledge for the purpose of re-certification and/or career advancement.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once your registration and payment have been submitted, no refunds will be issued.

Do I need to be admitted as a student at Idaho State University?

No. Our courses do not count towards a degree, although many do count towards re-certification.

Do professional development courses count towards a degree?

No. Our courses do not count towards a degree, although many do count towards re-certification.

What is the cost for professional development courses?

One (1) credit will cost $55, although there may be additional fees associated with certain professional development courses. Our professional development courses are graduate-level and are already offered at a reduced rate.

Is there a limit on how many credits I can earn?

Yes. You may only enroll for a maximum of seven (7) professional development credits per semester. Credits are not retro activated nor can they be placed in upcoming semesters for previous course completion.

How do I access online courses on Community Moodle?

All of our online courses, excluding VESI courses, will be accessible on Community Moodle at https://elearn.isu.edu/community/login/index.php. Create an account there or log in using an ISU account.

How do I request a transcript?

Visit the ABC student portal to obtain a copy of your official Professional Development Transcript. The cost for this transcript has yet to be determined.

How will I know what grade I received?

You will need to obtain a transcript to verify what grade was posted by the instructor. All courses are either S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory). Grades are final once posted on your transcript. No credits are awarded for any course in which a U (unsatisfactory) is earned.

How do I register for the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Course (ICLC)?

The ICLC has ongoing registration throughout the year. Please register for the course by visiting our online course catalog and pay online. Once processed, you will receive instructions on how to access the course via Community Moodle.
