Early Registration

Welcome Parents, Family, and Guests of First Year Students at ISU

The Bengal Community looks forward to meeting you during Early Registration! Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to support your student in this important process of establishing their academic plans for the fall semester.

The role of a family member or guest at Early Registration may feel a bit “unique” to you. This might be the first time that you are not directly making a decision for your child’s future as you release them to work with academic advisors to select their first college courses. Perhaps this is your first child to enter higher education, or your last. Whatever your situation, we want you to feel like a part of our Bengal family, and that you have the information you need in order to understand and support your student’s academic journey. When you attend Early Registration, please take advantage of the following resources.

Plan to Attend the Family and Guest Session, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

What does every college parent or family member need to know?

While your students are released to work with academic advisors on this day, join us for this critical session designed to give families and guests a broader understanding of the Student Affairs and Academic Affairs resources available to all ISU students. Panelists from Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Central Academic Advising will provide engaging and interactive presentations. (Special note: a Spanish session for Families and Guests will be provided for those families and guests whose first language is Spanish. American Sign Language interpretation will also be provided upon request. Please be sure that your student requests either of these options for you on their student registration form.)

Resource Fair

There is no better way to feel confident about your student’s academic journey than to ask questions! Plan to stop by the Resource Fair to learn more about student support services at ISU.

  • Ask specific Financial Aid and Scholarships questions
  • Sign up to attend Fall 2019 New Student Orientation
  • Explore and secure on-campus living plans with Housing and Residence Life
