Early Registration
paw print For a smooth running Early Registration day, take time to review and follow-up on important business.

1. Verify you have access to BengalWeb. Log in with your username and password found in your ISU Admissions packet. If problems arise, contact the ISU IT Service Desk at (208) 282-HELP (4357) for assistance.

  • Familiarize yourself with where things are located in BengalWeb.
    • Step 1: Log into BengalWeb.
    • Step 2: Click on Academic Tools on the left side of the screen.
    • Step 3: Find the Registration Tools block.
      • The Registration Tools block is the primary place to search for classes, see your schedule, and access your Student Profile, which contains academic history.
  • Enter your emergency contact information. This must be completed before you can register for Fall classes.
    • Step 1: Log into BengalWeb.
    • Step 2: Click on Academic Tools on the left side of the screen.
    • Step 3: Find the Student Record block.
      • In the Student Record block, click on Update Emergency Contacts
  • Check your ISU email regularly. Important information is sent to your email. It's important to stay up-to-date.
    • Log in to BengalWeb. In the upper-left corner there is an envelope icon. This will lead you to ISU email, provided by Gmail. Your ISU email username and password are the same as your BengalWeb username and password.

2. Complete the Fundamentals of Advising and Registration (FAR) session (login to the ISU Moodle Online Coursework System), before your Early Registration day. Your Moodle login information is the same as your BengalWeb and ISU email. The FAR must be completed before you can register for Fall classes.

3. Have you taken Early College classes for dual credit, AP, or concurrent credit at a university besides ISU?Benny Posing with Students

  • If yes, make sure your transcripts are sent for any completed early college/dual credit courses sent to ISU as soon as possible.
    • Send Official Transcripts to:

  • For Spring in-progress early college/dual credit courses, bring an unofficial transcript with you to Early Registration. Make a note to send final transcripts to ISU after course completion.
  • Admission to ISU requires that you successfully complete all current high school course work. It is critical that your high school send a final transcript to ISU.

4. Take time to review Math Placement to see which Math class you qualify for.

5. Take time to review English Placement to see which English class you qualify for.

6. The Fall Class Schedule will be published online on March 25, 2019. Practice searching for classes and see which ones interest you. IT Services has a great how-to for searching for classes.

7. Consider creating a Trial Class Schedule for your first semester at ISU!

  • Honors Students? Students who are accepted into the ISU Honors Program will have different course expectations compared to the rest of the university community. Honors Program faculty will provide individualized schedule building assistance at Early Registration.

  • Bengal Bridge Student? Students who are accepted into the ISU Bengal Bridge summer program will register for their summer classes before building a fall schedule. Bengal Bridge staff will provide individualized schedule building assistance at Early Registration.

  • College of Technology? Students entering a College of Technology program have prescribed schedules. Please contact the College of Technology Student Services for more information.
