Deadlines for Scheduling Exams

To ensure your alternative testing accommodations, you are responsible for scheduling your upcoming exam with us by the following scheduling deadlines. 

  • At least three (3) business days in advance of the upcoming quiz, standard exam, or midterm.  
    • For example, if your exam is on Friday, please request your exam no later than the Tuesday prior. It is the student’s responsibility to account for university holidays and closures, as these do not count as business days.  
  • For any quiz or exam requested during ISU Finals Week: These requests must be made at least two (2) business weeks in advance. Typically this would be no later than the Friday before “pre-finals week” (“pre-finals week” - refers to the week before finals week).  

If you do not schedule your test through a DS testing center by the deadlines mentioned above, then you will take the exam along with the rest of the class where none of your alternative testing accommodations have to be honored.

Steps for Scheduling Exams

Step 1) Go to the Disability Services Portal

  • Please note the tutorials below the portal link, as these provide important instructions for renewing accommodations and scheduling exams.

Step 2) Sign into the Services Portal using your ISU single-user login username and password. 

Step 3) On the portal dashboard, go to the My Accommodations section and click on the Alternative Testing option.

 Step 4) Within the Alternative Testing Agreement(s) section, select the class you are scheduling an exam for by clicking on the drop-down box next to the Select Class.

Step 6) Review the TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SCHEDULING EXAM section on your screen.

  • You, the student, are responsible to schedule exams for the dates/times listed in the syllabus, or within the flexibility parameters indicated on the DS Testing Agreement. If you schedule for an incorrect date/time, it is your responsibility to reschedule within the necessary deadlines for scheduling exams as lived above.

Step 9) To confirm your exam request, you’re welcome to:

    • Reach out to the campus testing center you’ll be testing at:
      1. Pocatello - ada@isu.edu or 208-282-3599

      3. Meridian - meridiantesting@isu.edu or 208-373-1960
      4. Visit us in person. All locations are listed under contact information on the Disability Services homepage or visit our staff page and scroll down for office locations. 
    • Or, login to the Disability Services Portal, select Alternative Testing, and view the status of your exam under Upcoming Exam Request(s) for the Current Term.
