Morning Session:  Self- Compassion in the Time of COVID

Join us as we explore the inner resource of self-compassion to navigate the difficult time of living through a pandemic. We will discuss and practice self-compassion exercises that can help us as we care for ourselves and others. 

Afternoon Session: P.E.A.C.E. - Compassionate Conversations to Enhance Awareness and Resilience

Attendees will participate in compassionate conversations that enhance awareness of self and others' cultural identity and resilience. Attendees will learn and use helpful resources for exploring cultural identity and implement the P.E.A.C.E. Discussion Model. Presenters will help attendees examine the potential impact of such conversations on self, peers, clients, and organizations.

Morning Session: Steps for Ethical Personality Disorder Diagnosis and Intervention

This workshop will guide practitioners through the history, ethical standards, and steps for compassionate personality disorder diagnosis. Participants will explore their personal reactions to diagnosis, discuss reasons when (and when not) to diagnose, and practice diagnosing personality disorders using examples from cinema. Lastly, the workshop will review models for conceptualizing and effectively working with personality disorder traits in therapy. 

Afternoon Session: Introduction to EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an increasingly popular and evidence based therapeutic approach with applications across a variety of clinical populations. This presentation will provide mental health and related professionals with an orientation to EMDR. This is not a full training course, rather it is intended to provide an introduction for those who are curious to know more and/or are contemplating pursuing full training.
