Crime Log - Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Meridian
The crime log records all alleged criminal incidents reported to the Department of Public Safety that occurred on campus, on public property adjacent to and accessible from campus, and in or on noncampus buildings or property. The crime log also includes incidents brought to the attention of a campus security authority or a local law enforcement agency which subsequently shared the information with the Department of Public Safety. The Department of Public Safety offices in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Meridian each maintain a copy of their respective crime log for public inspection during regular business hours.
Incidents are entered into the log within two business days of the information being reported to the Department of Public Safety. A business day is Monday through Friday, except for days when ISU is closed (such as holidays or other scheduled breaks). The crime log provides the following information for each incident: nature or classification, incident number, date reported, date and time occurred, general location, and disposition. The disposition of the incident provides information about the current status of an incident or investigation. Visit our glossary for a complete definition of crime log dispositions.
Information may be temporarily withheld from the crime log if there is clear and convincing evidence that the release of the information would jeopardize an ongoing investigation, jeopardize the safety of an individual, cause a suspect to flee or evade detection, or result in the destruction of evidence.
