Fall 2017 Dance Courses

Idaho State University’s Fall 2017 semester starts on August 22. The College of Arts and Letters is offering several dance courses that fulfill general education objectives, and some that don’t. DAAC 1140/1141:  Tap Dance I and II 

Lindsay Tucker

MW 5:30-6:20 p.m.

Introduction to basic steps of tap technique, including coordination, rhythmic variations, and performance skills through a series of tap combinations. Tap shoes are required. Informal performance opportunities available.


DAAC 1176: Pilates Conditioning—Equipment 

Sheena Phelps

MW 1-1:50 p.m.

CRN: 14820

A Pilates based fitness and dance conditioning work-out with equipment balances strength with flexibility while toning the body's major and minor muscles, increasing circulation, aiding correct alignment and movement efficiency for optimal performance potential. Includes training on the Wunda Chair, the Pilates Reformer, and the Cadillac.


DAAC 1195: Swing Dance

TR 4:30 to 5:20 p.m.

Swing techniques taught at a beginning skill level along with partnering, appropriate dress, proper etiquette. Informal performance opportunities available.
