Dr. Cornell is from Charleston West Virginia and obtained his BS in Zoology and Biological Sciences from Marshall University. Dr. Cornell studied Systems Ecology under his PhD adviser Charles A.S. Hall who was himself a student of H.T. Odum. Dr. Cornell uses a wide variety of tools to study ecosystems including GIS, computer programming, and spatial statistics. Dr. Cornell works with a wide variety of organisms and has studied the taxonomy of spiders, butterflies, fungi, lichens, and bryophytes.
