Meridian Campus Application - Intent Form
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication Sciences with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology consists of a curriculum using biological and social sciences as a foundation. Included in the Speech-Emphasis is the study of phonetics, acoustics and neurology, the development of normal speech, language, and hearing abilities as well as deviations from normal communicative processes. The Audiology-Emphasis curriculum is designed to support the Communication Sciences Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a basic foundation of Speech Pathology followed by more advanced coursework in Audiology. The coursework includes topics such as clinical processes in audiology, clinical practicum (audiology), sign language courses, and deaf culture. Students are introduced to assessment and treatment procedures at the undergraduate level. Those graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology at Idaho State University are prepared to apply to the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology graduate program. Those graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders with an emphasis in Audiology at Idaho State University are prepared to apply to the Doctor of Audiology graduate program.
Idaho State University has the distinction of offering the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders on both the Pocatello and Meridian campuses. It is recommended that students interested in the Meridian undergraduate program complete their general education requirements before transferring to the Idaho State University-Meridian program. General Education courses are not offered at the Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center. The Meridian campus has a limited number of seats, thererfore, an Intent Form must be submitted. Please follow the instructions on the application to apply to the Meridian campus.
