Study questions:  Walzer, Chpt. 3 of Spheres of Justice

1.  In Chpt. 3 Walzer sets out his account of "needs."  What are the main features of this account?
Once needs are determined, how does Walzer think they must be distributed? (Why?)

2.  In what way does Walzer's view challenge "liberal" views, such as those of Rawls or Nozick?
How might Nozick or Rawls' respond to these challenges? To what extent could they offer
       adequate reponses?
