Study questions:  Hobbes, Leviathan, Chpts. 6, 10, 11, and 13



1.  Explain Hobbes' definitions of the following terms:  Appetite/aversion, good/evil, felicity,
        and power.  

2.  How plausible do you think these definitions are?  What problems might arise for them?

3.  Hobbes claims that human beings outside of a society or state would be in a constant state
        of war.  Why does he think this is true?  What are the main features of our human nature
        that lead to this?
