comparative study of the creation of countries on the basis of written
constitutions. This page is maintained to help my students find resources

about the Society itself and extensive lists of research resources.

Countries: World
- A major archive of historic and currently-valid constitutional
documents. Among the interesting documents available here are the
constitution of the Iroquois Nations, the Articles of Confederation of
1781, the Mexican Constitution of 1836, the constitution of the
Confederate States of America, and many of the recent Eastern European ones.
- ICL
- The International Constitutional Law (ICL) information site of the
University of Hamburg, Germany. Many feel that this is one of the best
sites for foreign constitutions.

Finder
- A useful aid for just what its title suggests. Provided by Prof. John
Paul Jones of the University of Richmond.
- Internet Law Library
- The U.S. House of Representatives Internet Law Library includes a
quite comprehensive collection of worldwide legal materials. This
material is also available from the Australasian Legal
Information Institute and the Illinois Institute of Technology
Information Center.
- Latin American Constitutions
- This Latin American Constitutions site is part of the Political
Database of the Americas of Georgetown University's Center for Latin
American Studies and The Organization of American States.
- Las
Constituciones de México
- Materials made available by the Instituto de Investigaciones
Jurídicas of the UNAM.
- Investigaciones Derecho
Constitucional
- Materials relating to the drafting of Peru's Constitution of 1993, a
rich collection of earlier Peruvian constitutions and related documents
from 1812 to 1979, and three collections of foreign constitutions.
- South African Constitutional
Assembly
- A wonderful collection of documents associated with the drafting of
the South African Constitution of 1996, including the final version itself.
- DOSFAN
- The Department of State Foreign Affairs Network. Important
historical documents, reference sources, and serials like the
Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. You can go
