Shoshoni Vowels

 

 

Shoshoni has six vowels:

 

 

a,   ai,   e,   i,   o,   u

 

 

 

 

These vowels can occur either long or short.

 

 Long vowels are pronounced twice as long as short vowels.

 They are written doubled:

 

 

 

aa,   aaii,   ee,   ii,   oo,   uu
