Chapter 5 Assignments

Any changes will be announced in class and posted on the web page.
G indicates problems from the Graphing Utility Exercises.
Try working similar odd-numbered problems when an even-numbered problem is assigned.
Working additional problems (without the book, with a time limit) is good preparation for exams.

*In Q Sections, work as many as possible, but at least 1 or 2 from each block of similar problems.

Reading Sheets

Reading sheets will be graded 0, .5, or 1, based primarily on effort.  The total points from them (20 points over the entire semester) will be included in your homework or quiz average.

Each Reading Sheet should consist of two things:

Use complete, well-written sentences with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation (I will make corrections, but you will not be graded on this).  Be as specific as possible.

To come up with questions, ask yourself what topic was most confusing.  Some possible question starters: "Why is", "What is the difference between", "What is another example of", "How could", "What is", "How does", "What is another way to look at", "What does",...
If you can think of no questions, describe specifically the one topic that was hardest to understand.
