Suggestions for effective reading
Writing Guidelines
Homework Chapter
Guideline
1
Rewrite initial solutions or scratchwork as a final draft before submitting homework.
13
Use complete sentences with correct spelling and grammar.
14
Use appropriate tools (e.g., graph paper, ruler, compass, circle template, etc.) to make accurate bar graphs and pie charts.
15
Use mathematical notation correctly, especially the equal sign.
If you write a=b=c where a, b, and c stand for any expressions, you are asserting that ALL of them are equal.
Only write A=B when A and B are equal mathematical objects, NOT as an abbreviation for some other relationship between letters that stand for people or non-mathematical  objects.
9
To prevent round-off error, avoid rounding more than absolutely necessary until the end of a calculation.
10
Give complete answers, including meaning and units.
11
Draw careful clear pictures and provide written explanation of what you did to draw the picture.
