Position:
Digital Mapping Laboratory Manager, which includes the Student/Teaching Laboratory. I have GIS and Cad experience, create and update web sites for the Department of Geosciences, GeoSTAC, BCAL, Planetary Geology for Teachers, Environmental Geology web classes, and others as need arises. I assist faculty and staff in the department with research, classes, publications, etc. I received my B.A. in Geology in 1999 from Idaho State University, with a minor in History, and many classes in Biology and GIS.
Personal:
I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and went to high school in Phoenix, Arizona. I have since lived in New Mexico again for a short while, then in Utah for about 5 years, then back to Phoenix for a few more years, and then moved to Pocatello, Idaho where I have lived for the past 17 years (that number is hard to believe !!!). Along the way I was married, had a daughter and two sons, went back to school, received my bachelor of arts in Geology, and now have three grandsons.
Interests:
I have always been fasinated by maps so it's quite the stroke of luck that I happened to be majoring in Geology when GIS applications and the GIS Lab in the Department and at ISU were in their beginning stages. I started as a workstudy in the laboratory digitizing in autocad and had a lot to learn about computers. I love my digital camera and take lots of pictures when time permits. The city of Pocatello web site features one of my pictures of Pocatello.
