Rural Assistance Center (RACOnline) This is the best one-stop shopping for information for the Rural United States.

Institute of Rural Health at Idaho State University The mission of the Institute of Rural Health (IRH) is to improve the health of rural communities in Idaho and the Intermountain Region, as well as throughout the Nation and the World through research, education, and service.

Behavioral Healthcare in Rural and Frontier Areas: An Interdisciplinary Handbook" forthcoming from APA Books. Anticipated publication summer/fall 2003.

Rural-Care. This is a free discussion list for professionals.  It is part of the InterPsych lists.

RuralPSYCH: American Psychological Association. A great place to start for orientation to health care and behavioral health care in Rural Areas.

Rural Information Center Health Service This is a large United States federal government collaborative site, known as RICHS.  It is a joint project of the Office of Rural Health Policy, Department of Health and Human Services, the National Agricultural Library (NAL), United States Department of Agriculture. Operating as part of NAL's Rural Information Center (RIC), RICHS collects and disseminates information on rural health issues.

Office of Rural Health Policy This is one of the quintessential places in the U.S. Federal government for information on telehealth and on rural policy.

Medical Cost Offsets Understanding the cost offsets of mental health in health care. From the American Psychological Associaion.

Journal of Rural Community Psychology.  Another peer-reviewed e-journal.  Another great resource!  More full text online.  JRCP began as a print journal and is revived after a hiatus. Since JRCP is devoted to a broad range of issues, it publishes research articles, position papers, "thought pieces", demographic studies, oral histories, commentaries, and other kinds of work will.

SatelLife (HealthNet). SatelLife is an international not-for-profit organization which uses internetworking technology to serve the health communication and information needs of countries in the developing world. SatelLife's mission is to improve communications and exchanges of information in the fields of public health, medicine and the environment. A special emphasis is placed on areas of the world where access is limited by poor communications, economic conditions, or disasters.

World Rural Health Congress: The Rural Practitioner: A Model of Health Care for the 21st Century. This site preserves some of the highlights of the Congress which was held in Durbin, South Africa in the fall of 1997.

HealthLink: Information, Interaction, Innovation for Health Care in South Africa. The purpose of this site is to provide a service to those trying to keep up-to-date with developments in the health arena in South Africa. The focus is on issues of health policy, development, legislation and health reform.

Rural Health Futures This site is a bit dusty but does have some interesting demographics on it. Some of the telehealth information is out of date.
