Current research interests
My current area of interest involves the ecological basis to the sustainability of the built environment including architecture and landscapes. Even though there seems to be some progress in this area there does not appear to be much in the way of academic opportunity. Consequently, I am in the process of starting a research program in the ecology of living roofs. Living or green roof benefits are many, but there has been little research on the efficacy of green roofs in the US and none in the arid southwest.
Current research
Currently I am analyzing arthropod community data from natural fragments (kipukas) and comparing them with human-caused unnatural fragments in the sagebrush-steppe of SE Idaho.
