CALL FOR ARTISTS-CREATIVITY: A REBIRTHING
Submissions are due by 5:00pm February 12th, 2010
As women, not only do we have the ability to create new life, but on a daily basis, we recreate -everything from meals to clothing to our very own persona.
This exhibition will honor our ability to reinvent our lives, our loves, and our selves. Tell us in a story, a poem, a painting, or some other medium how a woman rebirthed herself into the world. Remember, although you don’t have to be female to participate, your work must focus on women.
The Women’s History Month Committee is calling for submissions for Creativity: A Rebirthing to be presented in March, National Women's History Month. Submissions may include the following:
- Paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, and other plastic arts
- Needlework, including embroidery, needlepoint, quilts, etc.
- Original short stories and poetry
- Plays, monologues or discussions (excluding performance)
- Digital collage, photography or other digital media (excluding video)
- Music, including lyrics, composition or performance
Originality of expression, uniqueness, and fine workmanship are critical selection components. Exhibition theme is a major consideration. The curator reserves the right to disqualify a piece if it does not meet the criteria listed above.
Submissions will be on display in the Transition Gallery on the ISU campus during the month of March 2010.
