Graduate Admissions
Prerequisites
For full admission to the graduate program in sociology, the student must have completed the following courses or their equivalents.
SOC 1101 - Introduction to Sociology
SOC 2207 - Social Statistics
SOC 2206 - Sociological Methods
SOC 3301/4403 - Classical Social Theory and Contemporary Social Theory
Replace with: To apply, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the most recent 60 undergraduate credits or permission from Gesine Hearn heargesi@isu.edu.
All applicants with a GPA lower than 3.5 must take the GRE and score a minimum of the 40th percentile in one of the three sections if the GRE. Three letters of recommendation must accompany the application.
