Payment Information

Clients are billed for services monthly. Insurance is not billed by the ISU Speech and Language Clinic however a reimbursement form can be filled out by the clinic supervisor for the client to submit for reimbursement. A sliding scale is available based on income.

Facilities, Equipment and Technology

The Speech and Language Clinic- Boise consists of four individual therapy rooms with two observation rooms, a room for adult group therapy with attached observation room, and a fully equipped therapy materials room. The clinic also houses a Visipitch, three audiometers, tympanometer and multiple AAC devices.

Students in the ISU Speech and Language Clinic- Boise receive experience working with a variety of clients to fulfill clinical requirements for licensure.

Timely feedback from on-site clinical faculty allows students to gain experience across the life span in a variety of disorder areas.

The focus of clinical education is ethical, functional assessment and treatment that enhances client's day to day lives in work, school and home settings.

Students gain clinical experiences in affiliated off campus sites such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, public schools, and private practice.

The master's degree program is designed to foster students' ability to adapt to the future, provide leadership, and enter the workforce in schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, private practice, or doctoral programs.

Professional Service Contributions

State and national professional association activities:

Provider of continuing education for community professionals through the Annual Winter Symposium in Pocatello (January) and biennial NSSLHA (student organization) spring conference.

Students and faculty are involved in many community screening clinics and provide screening services to local school districts, parochial schools, businesses (Hewlett Packard) and private organizations.

Faculty & Staff

ISU-Boise offers an annual summer camp for children who use Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices. The camp is the only one in the region and provides both campers and ISU student clinicians invaluable hands on experience.

Communication Skills Group for Adults with Aphasia: Group meets once a week for two hours. Group members participate with student clinicians in therapy activities to improve word-finding, memory, following directions and assistive technology.
