The area from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to
Red Hill Road and from West Hall to Reed Gym
will be closed for about three years. Upon completion
of the Rendezvous, Cadet Field in front of
Reed Gym will be reseeded and reopened as a ball
field. Red Hill Road is closed to traffic and will be
reopened when construction is complete.
Centrally located on campus, the Rendezvous will
become a gathering place for the campus community.
The complex will promote an enhanced collegial
atmosphere that integrates upper and lower campuses
in a facility where students and faculty can meet both
in the classroom and in a social setting.
The apartments and dining hall will replace those
in Garrison Hall which are being converted to other
uses. Other present on-campus housing units will
remain.
Other facilities in the Rendezvous include a
large computer center, large meeting room with
partitions for conversion into three small meeting
rooms, and retail space housing an ISU Spirit
Shop, an adjunct operation of the ISU Bookstore.
All facilities in the PSUB, including the food service,
will remain as is.
