What is the Veterans' Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is a transition and support program for student veterans at Idaho State University. Our support team uses a “one-stop shop” approach to provide vets with resources and contacts within the university’s departments and within the greater Pocatello and Idaho Falls communities. Our goal is to help our nation’s finest have the best college experience possible by providing opportunities for academic and social success.

Mission Statement

To promote enrollment of veterans at ISU. To create the appropriate environment to facilitate the special needs of returning veterans. To establish ISU as a leader in providing veterans with the opportunity to attain a college education. To prepare for the provisions of the new "GI Bill for the 21st Century."

Purpose

To recruit armed forces veterans to be students at ISU by creating a "veteran friendly" environment. ISU has identified the special needs, recognized the required environment, and will institute a multi-year strategic plan designed to label ISU as a leader in providing top quality education to the American veteran. This program is designed to be dynamic to respond to the needs of veterans to ensure their academic success.
