Dr. Lybecker's presentation will focus on policies concerning the illegal crossing of individuals along the U.S.-Mexican border. In particular the presentation will cover how security changes, including increased border protection in urban areas and the development of expanding border fencing an wall are impacting the border region and the environment.

This discussion will focus on American immigration policies and how they are affecting the our nation. The discussion will endeavor to analyze the history of current immigration policy and how current policy is affected. It will also discuss the economic impacts of current policies. Finally, the it will address effects of the Wall on the environment and crossing migrants.

Cydney Crue - Sociologist
The discussion will focus around the struggles and hardships that the immigrants go through after they cross the border. We will include the perspectives of two immigrants that have come to Idaho and work with the immigrant communities one here in Pocatello and the other in Boise with ICAN an immigrant rights activist group. The third panelist, from Idaho State University, will be a sociologist.
