Gift Opportunities- Students' Community Service Center

The Idaho State University, Students’ Community Service Center’s mission is to serve the campus and the region by connecting students, faculty, and staff with volunteer and “community action” opportunities that address community identified needs, provide learning opportunities for those serving and for those being served, and that result in positive outcomes for the larger community. Beyond volunteerism, community action and/or civic engagement encourages volunteers, agencies, and community members to engage in programs and services that lead to positive community and social change.

Fun Education for Kids A gift of $25 will… Send one underprivileged child grades 1-6, to the Idaho Museum of Natural History’s one-day Natural History Academy. OR Provide admission and transportation for a parent and a toddler to attend one Zoo Buddies Program on a Tuesday during the summer.

Swimming? “I Want To Learn” A gift of $40 will… One under privileged child with eight half-hour swimming lessons. There are five sessions throughout the summer at $32 per session. OR Send an underprivileged child, grades 3-5, to the Idaho Museum of Natural History’s one day Science Trek.

A Week With the Museum for Two A gift of $75 will… Send two children of the same family, grades 1-6, to one of the Idaho Museum of Natural History’s M-F summer classes. Fort Hall to the Pocatello Zoo A gift of $130 will… Provide fees and transportation for one child from Fort Hall Indian Reservation, age 6-12, to participate in four days of half-day camp at the Pocatello Zoo

Off To The Museum Or The Zoo A gift of $200 will…Send one underprivileged young woman, age 12-16, to the Idaho Museum of Natural History’s Idaho Summer Science Institute. OR Provide fees and transportation for one child from Fort Hall Indian Reservation, age 6-12, to participate in 5 days of full-day camp at the Pocatello Z00.

What About Foot Clinics & Blood Drives A gift of $350 will… Support The Students' Community Service Center in purchasing supplies for a foot clinic at the annul Homeless Stand Down (utilizing senior nursing students). OR Provide food for the canteen at one Red Cross blood drive on campus.

ISU Students Want to Go! A gift of $500 will… Support one ISU student going on Alternative Spring Break to do community service in a culturally, ethnically, economically diverse region of the U.S.

Computers Count! A gift of $1,500 will… Purchase a new computer for Student Volunteer Coordinators.

Service-Learning Scholarships A gift of $2,500 will… Help start an endowment to provide service scholarships for ISU undergraduate and graduate students to do community based research for social service agencies, applying what they are studying and learning at ISU.

Speaking of Sustainability! A gift of $7,000 will… Support the collaboration with other campus and community groups to bring a prominent speaker on environment to ISU for Earth Week.
