How to register for Craftshop classes:
To be registered for a class the class fee must be paid. You may register at the Craft Shop in person or by sending your fees in the mail. Minimum registration must be met 24 hours before the class is to begin or the class will be canceled. Some classes require a membership. Membership fees should be paid at the Craft Shop the evening of the first class. Memberships are not refundable.
Refund Policy: Class fees will be refunded 100% if notice of cancellation is given 5 days prior to the first meeting of the class. NO refunds thereafter. Class fees will be refunded 100% if the class is canceled.
CRAFT SHOP CLASSES FALL 2009
CLAY ON THE WHEEL
A six-session class for students aged 15 and up who would like to work on the potter's wheel. Students will start with the basics and make cups, mugs, and bowls. Decorating and glazing techniques will also be addressed. First bag of clay included in class fee.

GLASS BEAD MAKING
This class will teach the art of bead-making without investing a lot of time. In two, two-and-a-half hour classes, students will use a torch to melt glass, which is then shaped into unique wound and drawn beads. Supplies will be included in the class fee.

BEGINNING STAINED GLASS
Students will learn the basics of stained glass through pattern layout, glass cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering. Projects will be completed using both foil and lead caning methods. The instructor will call you a week before the first class to discuss materials so you will have time to purchase them before the first class.

HERRING BONE STITCH NECKLACE
This stitch has become one of the hot beading techniques for contemporary design in beadwork. This class will be offered each Monday afternoon. You can learn this technique in one session and be on your way to making beautiful necklaces and bracelets.

CHAIN MAKING
In this class, you will learn the basic techniques for creating your own chain jewelry ranging from light and elegant to intricate chain mail. You will learn to wind and cut jump rings using a vice and jewelers saw. All materials are included. Age 15 and older.

BEGINNING SEWING
Complete a simple sewing project as you take the first step toward becoming an accomplished seamstress. Enjoy learning the fundamentals of sewing as you select fabrics and choose and lay out a pattern. Discover the basic construction and tips for shortcuts and finishing techniques. Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours! Materials required.

INTERMEDIATE SEWING
