Student Support Services
Student Support Services is TRiO's collegiate component, and it offers eligible students advising and tutoring to help them continue their educations and complete their bachelor's degrees.
Student Support Services advisors work with about 250 students. These advisors are responsible for helping students register for classes and identifying and pursuing any other services they may need assistance with to decrease obstacles in students'paths. The SSS advisor then follows each student until that student graduates.
Students may be eligible if they...
- First Generation College Students -
- Neither of the student's parents has a bachelor's degree. If a parent has an associate's degree, the student is elegible to receive TRiO services
- The student's taxable income is at or below a scale set by the Department of Education's Federal TRiO Programs. Some students may feel they are not eligible because of their income, but the taxable income can make a difference in determining their eligibility.
- The student has a documented physical, psychological, or learning disability. Verification of the disability is needed from the student's physician or psychologist.
