How to Set Up & Activate a Proxy
Setting up a proxy is a two-step process. Unless a proxy has been set up with Human Resources AND activated in BengalWeb, the proxy won't be able to approve time. Proxies should remain activated at all times so that they will be able to approve time in case of emergencies.
Step 1: Set Up a Proxy with Human Resources
Email Debbie Lance in Human Resources, stating who you would like to serve as your proxy (email@example.com). When confirmation is received that the proxy has been approved, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Activate Proxy in BengalWeb
Log on to BengalWeb and click on the Employees tab. Click on the Update Approval Proxies link in the Time Approval channel.
The Proxy Set Up screen appears. Click on the down arrow next to the Name field and select YOUR proxy from the list. The names are listed in alphabetical order by their ISU email user name.
Note: Even though the list contains the names of all people set up to be proxies in the system, you may only choose the name of the proxy that has been approved for you by Human Resources. You may not choose any other name. If you need to change your proxy, or add an additional proxy, you must go back to Step 1.
After you've selected your proxy, check the Add/Remove box, then click Save. Your proxy is now activated. You will see that their name has appeared ABOVE the list of available proxies. If you have more than one approved proxy, you may add the others following the same procedure.
To remove a proxy that has been activated, check the Add/Remove box again, then click Save. Their name will no longer appear above the list of available proxies. You are then ready to activate your new proxy, following the procedure explained above.
