Adding a Tab

To add a tab, click on the "Content Layout" link found above the tabs in the upper left hand corner of BengalWeb. Click the Add Tab button. A list of steps for adding the tab appears.

Steps for Adding a Tab

Complete the 4 steps:

  1. Name the tab. Supply a name for your new tab.
  2. Select the type. Specify one of two types for the tab content:
Traditional. Creates a tab to which you can add channels.
Framed. Creates a tab which opens an existing webpage of your choice. Select "Framed," and then fill in the complete URL (web address) of the webpage you'd like to see displayed, following the example given, i.e., http://www.theInternet.com.
  3. Select a position for your new tab. Set the order of the tab in relation to other tabs. Note: The tabs you were given in your original layout contain information and resources relevant to your particular role on campus (such as student or faculty member). In some cases, they may not be moveable.
  4. Submit your choices. Once you have filled in the required fields as appropriate, click the Submit button. You are returned to the layout screen where you will see your new tab in the layout image. At this point, if you have created a traditional tab, you will need to add channels.

If at any time you decide NOT to add a new tab, simply click Cancel and return to go back to the layout screen.

Moving a Tab
